010_TRIDENSITY

We tried to create a high degree of complexity by using the system of triangulation. Our surfaces are based on different types of triangulation and cracking. These are differentiated used for the load-bearing structural and boney part of our building, the extensively facade and the pattern of the interiors. We worked on a basic inner-structure for our building which is guiding from the entrance to and thru the rooms. This structure is firstly a floor-pattern and growing to a spatial structure with stairs for overcoming different floor-levels. So it is creating a atrium-situation which ends in the transition to the facade, were the boney parts get an extensively chip -shape. The chip-size and grade of transparency of the facade-pattern depend on the rooms behind. We include colored light in the edges of the structure and pattern for highlighting the geometry and creating different atmospheres. We followed a room-in-room concept. Our rooms are connected to the central network of circulation structure which we mentioned before. This very open and boney structure is transforming to closed and intimate rooms and getting open again for the openings and the transition to the facade.
We connected our building to the environment outside by using two entrances at the corners and a whole entrance-floor for a kind of walk-thru under the building. So you enter our building in the basement and you reach the upper floors by using the stairs which are located in the inner boney structure of our building. We have two upper floors and therefore we have also two stairs, each separately for one floor. In the first floor we positioned two rooms, the lounge and the conference room. In our second floor we have located three rooms, the dining room, library and ballroom. Additional we connected the first with the second floor by stairs from the lounge to the dining room which is located directly over the lounge. So we get a thought-out circulation in the building. Further we have to say that our rooms aren’t only on exact two levels. The rooms are created out of the inner structure and so there are differences in the height of each room and room-level. It’s hard to explain but we tried to position our rooms by an intelligent internal organization. The room concept follows a logic depending on room qualities such as priority, number of visitors, opening times etc.
