My project (A)live deals with intelligent self regulating systems which reconfigure the interior climate, program, and spatial qualities according to users demands and environmental inputs.
The main aim is to provide best possible ventilation with wide opened rooms instead of insulating and cooling the interior.
The climate in tropical regions is mainly influenced by fast changing daily factors, thus a constantly adapting system makes sense.
To achieve these properties smart materials are used which combine the functions of a sensor controller and actuator.
The structure consists of bended rots and membranes which are actuated thus they are able to respond to environmental inputs.
Without any complex mechanical effort the system is self regulating.
This property of pseudo living intelligent behaviour of the structure can be found in the project title the architecture seems to be alive.
